This cocktail bar is designed by Willy Rizzo, in the 1970s. His cocktail and bar design are among his most famous pieces and therefore most wanted objects. A fridge, fully functional, is installed below. The tops of the shelving, bottle and glass holders, are illuminated, have light, so as to create a pleasant atmosphere.
Willy Rizzo was a famous Italian photographer and furniture designer, known for his portraits of many celebrities in the 1950s. He photographed several Hollywood stars including Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Jane Fonda for Paris Match magazine. His eclectic taste was appreciated by many of his celebrity friends for leading the design of his own luxury flat in Rome, which led him to furniture design.
Willy Rizzo has a distinctive aesthetic and flair for combining modern furniture with traditional interior design. It is because of this unique creativity that his furniture has attracted the attention of collectors. As orders for furniture grew, he founded his own furniture company, "Tivoli", in 1968. His work combines clean, crisp lines with striking geometric shapes and a fine handling of materials, adopting the modernist principles of functionality and simplified form. He says: "This is not a reproduction of classical style in modern furniture, but an innovation in a traditional setting."
