Venchi (b. 1996) is a self-taught photographer and writer based in Beijing. With an interdisciplinary background in physics and finance, she currently works in the financial sector. Her practice spans multiple media, including photography, scripts, fiction, and audio.
Approaching her work through a psychological lens, Wen Qi operates in a space between reality and the surreal, developing a poetic and narrative-driven visual language. She is particularly interested in the inner relationships between people and objects, as well as the subtle flows of emotion that connect them. Through an introspective, inward-looking image-making process, she explores individual emotions, sensations, the subconscious, dreams, and their interplay with external reality—transforming photography into a means of self-awareness and emotional grounding.
