CoBrA GALLERY is pleased to announce the official opening of the new exhibition "Common Light", which will runs until 18 September 2024. In this exhibition, we will present works by Huang Rui, Huang Saifeng, Richard Stone, Márta Kucsora and other artists.
'Common Light 'comes from a sentence in <Tao Te Ching>, which means to crush the spirit, to free oneself from strife, to blend into the light of all things, to blend with the dust of the earth, to the greatest and the smallest, which is called mystical assimilation. Artists achieve a kind of moderation and balance in the dynamics of creation, find a commonality between different cultures and perspectives, and complete the exploration of the origin through an understanding of the laws of nature. The dynamic pictures that seem to be there and not at all will be presented in different forms on fixed media. The artists span countries & regions, languages & cultures to find the same resonance from different perspectives.
In their creations, the artists follow nature and the trend, with both restraint and tension, obtaining the maximum perception of the outside world in a state of calm. With the blending of colors, they quietly change the movement and stillness of the works. From Huang Rui to Márta Kucsora, we can find in these works the various forms of this Taoist ideology in both eastern and western perspectives.
